Messages To & From The Divine Matrix

As we’ve seen in a previous post, it may be possible to communicate with the universal intelligence – which Greg Braden has dubbed the Divine Matrix – by means of feeling and emotion.

I left you with the question “How does the matrix answer us?” at the end of the last post, so now it’s time to look at the ways in which the universe can tell us what we need to know.

Attraction:
The Law of Universal Answers

In one sense, the answer to the question is obvious – what happens in your world is the product of everything you think, feel, believe and experience.

It’s the product of your requests, your commands, and your demands.

law of attraction and the secret
Truly, a universal energy unknown to our physical senses can manifest reality for you…

But more specifically, most of us want to know, how the universe communicates with us in response to the questions we ask of it.

Regard the universal intelligence, if you will, as a place or thing which we cannot perceive from our conscious vantage point in the universe. Yet using principles of Law Of Attraction requires that we send questions and wishes and commands to the universal intelligence.

The fact we can’t see it has no bearing on its reality or its existence –  or its ability to respond to us.

Many people believe we are simply a manifestation of the divine, and so the universal intelligence is somehow more important than we are.

This might even be a reasonable point of view, because the universal intelligence (my name for the Divine Matrix) is, after all, the substrate from which everything with a physical form emerges.

Law Of Attraction
Planning, having time and space, and being in contact witht he Universe is necessary in using Law of Attraction to manifest.

Visions, Signs & Symbols

One of the interesting things I’ve experienced over the years in my own investigations into Law Of Attraction is how the universe has answered my request for signs and symbols.

I’ll give you a typical example of how this works: in my morning meditation in the garden, I call in various archetypal energies – the King, the Warrior, The Magician and the Lover, for example.

I then ask each of these energetic parts of myself a question or two, or hold a conversation with them, and sometimes questions come up which I cannot answer. Then I may ask the universe for a sign or symbol to help me figure out what’s going on.

And so one morning, as I stood in the garden with my eyes shut, I heard a flock of sparrows fly past me. That’s an unusual event, because although we have lots of them around the house (due to the neighbors’ generous all-year-round feeding), they don’t usually fly about in large flocks.

Then another flock flew past me. And a third. And that really is unusual, so I opened my eyes to take a look, and as I did so, a sparrow hawk flew over the roof of the house, went past my head, and landed in a tree behind me, about 20 feet away.

She looked at me, and I looked at her, for quite some time.

Attracting reality is not difficult.
Using The Law Of Attraction is very much like holding your destiny in your hands. You ask – and you get. At least, when you ask with sincerity and belief…

Coincidence? Well, maybe, but when you  talk to people who are familiar with this kind of thing, you find that signs and symbols are one of the easiest and most common ways in which the universal intelligence can communicate with us.

Tuning Into Reality – The Attraction Of Answers

If you believe the idea of the Divine Matrix explains how the universe operates, then you’ll recall that the concept of a holographic world lies at the centre of this idea.

And that means everything is a part of everything else.

If indeed that’s true, it follows that we could reasonably expect to feel the outcome and consequences of those connections everyday of our lives.

To some extent that is true in the following way: what the Divine Matrix offers you in terms of experience in the world is probably a reflection of what you’re thinking, feeling and believing about you and the world in your mind.

Experiencing some kind of message from the animal kingdom is by no means uncommon – but these universal messages can come in many other ways as well.

For example, the world is a powerful mirror for what we deeply believe to be true about ourselves and our presence in the world.

Law of Attraction is summed up in expressions such as these:

  • As you sow, so shall you reap.
  • Like attracts like.
  • Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
  • Ask and it shall be given unto you.

Greg Braden suggests that so many people share similar negative experiences in their families of origin because a few basic, primal and fundamental fears are all shared in our collective experience of the Divine Matrix.

I assume these fears, being primal, are acted out in much of our behavior, and account for the fact that people create so many of these negative experiences for themselves.

In other words, as the Law of Attraction has it: like attracts like. So let’s look at these basic fears.

Inclined To Seduce Good Fortune?

Gregg Braden defines these fears as the fear of abandonment and separation, the fear of low self-worth, and the fear of surrender and trust.

Fear Of Abandonment & Attraction Of Isolation

And indeed, considering we are born from a mother’s body into the world where we immediately face the possibility of separation and isolation, not to mention abandonment, it would be quite peculiar if this wasn’t a primal fear.

Indeed, as he rightly points out, our fundamental fear of isolation and separation has even entered the culture in the Lord’s prayer.

When we recite this, we say, “Our Father who art in heaven.” But interestingly enough if you go back to the original Aramaic text, translation of the same phrase begins something like “Radiant god you shine within us and outside us…” which reinforces the idea that in fact we are all a small part of creation, and that the creative force lives within us as well as outside us.

Braden suggests that when we have such an intense fear all around us, even if we are not consciously aware of it, it can create an emotional charge in our bodies.

Unhealed, and unattended to, this fear can manifest in the way we behave within relationships with other people – for example, some people will leave a relationship that is going well, before it comes to an end, so that they can avoid the pain of being abandoned.

But the problem with this kind of behavior is that suffering, as Braden puts it “turns into a diversion”.

In other words, it becomes one way in which you can avoid looking at your own fear of abandonment and isolation – fear which comes from a sense of separation. (Perhaps that is your existential separation from your creator. And by that, I don’t just mean from your mother at the moment of birth – but spiritually, emotionally and energetically, from the universal energy field that is indeed the source of all manifestation. Or God, if you prefer.)

Attraction & Rejection

Low self-worth is so common in our society as to be almost a cliché. There are so few people who feel they are good enough – in almost any area of life – that when you meet one their presence stands out immediately.

As Marianne Williamson so accurately described in her verse “Our Greatest Fear” almost none of us manage to live out our greatest dreams and aspirations.

And because we don’t want to admit to ourselves that we have a sense of not being good enough, we find ways of procrastinating and otherwise avoiding the realization of the truth that we might not be good enough.

These include doubts, challenges, obstacles and delays. And in response, the universal intelligence, the Divine Matrix, responds by reflecting back to us what we give it to work with – which is, in essence, our fear that we are not good enough.

This is a fascinating idea. What essentially Braden is saying is that our deepest fears are universal, and we lack effective ways of overcoming them.

As a result, what we manifest – what the universal intelligence (or the Divine Matrix) gives back to us – is a reflection of the outcome of the ways in which we avoid these deepest fears: failure, banality, mediocrity, disappointment, negativity.

Those qualities are the products of behaviors which are designed to avoid facing our deepest fears.

And of course when you think about the cultural background from which we come, this context becomes more understandable quite quickly: in the Judaeo-Christian tradition, we’ve been directly instructed that we are in fact lesser beings than the gods and angels who rule over us. Even those among us who achieve sainthood demonstrate our inferiority.

And Jesus’s own life demonstrates not something we can aspire to, but something that reminds us of our inadequacy.

(As in, for example, “Who do you think you are, Jesus Christ? Do you think you can walk on water?”)

And so, on some level, almost everyone – even those with high self-esteem – express a set of beliefs through our behavior, through how much joy we allow ourselves, and through how successful we are in relationships (or not)….

As Braden puts it, “Our fear of not being valuable enough to have love, acceptance, health, and longevity, promises that everyone of our relationships will reflect our fear of low self-worth. And it happens in ways that we would never expect in a million years.”

He goes on to explain. If you’ve ever been in a relationship you knew wasn’t what you really wanted and said to yourself something like “This is good enough for now” or I can live with this for now” or constantly promised yourself some escape in the future, you’ve probably been in the grip of your fear of not being good enough.

You exemplify all the reasons why you can’t expect the relationship you want either now or in the future.

And as for the fear of surrender and trust, well, in this context Braden talks about the fear each one of us has that it’s not safe to trust other people, or to trust the wisdom of our bodies, or the peace that we can achieve within our minds in the world.

And indeed, as he also rightly points out, we need to look no further than the news programs to realize that some people have an investment in making us fear the world and diminishing our sense of safety.

So what arises from this is the question: “Can you surrender yourself to your faith in the intelligence of the universe – in other words, to put it another way, can you trust that the universe will meet your needs (or, if you prefer, that God will provide)?”

You see, the thing is this: what you perceive as your reality doesn’t need to be influenced by what’s happening in the world around you.

You can take control by making even a subtle shift in the way you see yourself and what you believe to be true about yourself. And that will be mirrored in a magnified way by the universal intelligence.

So therefore, if you want your deepest values and beliefs about the world and yourself to be positive, and you want your experience of the world to reflect this, you need to make a shift from a place of fear into a place of confidence and security.

That way you will become a true Master of Manifestation and an Adept at using The Law of Attraction to get what you want.

We will have a look at this in the next post.
